PETRA RATNER, producer
Born in Prague, Czech Republic, Petra has a wealth of international experience working in film, television and commercials both in Europe and USA. She has worked on such films as HOSTEL & HOSTEL 2, ALIEN VS PREDATOR, DOOM and WANTED.
Petra (along with Paul) is the city producer of the Prague 48 Hour Film Project, a successful international film competition. In the 3 years since the first Prague 48 HFP, this timed filmmaking contest has grown to become a recognized showcase of Czech filmmaking talent, attracting over 70 teams of 500+ filmmakers as well as significant audience and national news attention.
Petra is also currently producing the Czech film “Chameleon” (directed by Dan Panek).
Additionally, she is in post-production on a documentary feature she produced - "THE CAVEMAN OF ATOMIC CITY" about a fringe philosopher who lived in a cave on the territory of the Los Alamos National Lab in New Mexico and came up with his own theory of time and space.
PAUL RATNER, writer/director
Paul is a writer/director with a diverse background. He has worked in the film industry in Hollywood, Russia, India and the Czech Republic. His numerous short films played a gamut of festivals around the world.
Besides writing and directing the web series "SPACESHIP FLORIDA", Paul is currently doing the same on "MOSES ON THE MESA", a narrative film based on the incredible true story of Solomon Bibo, who was a Jewish governor of the Native American tribe of Acoma in the Wild West of the 1800s.
Additionally, Paul is also in post-production on a documentary feature he directed - "THE CAVEMAN OF ATOMIC CITY" about micromike, a fringe philosopher who lived in a cave on the territory of the Los Alamos National Lab in New Mexico and came up with his own theory of time and space.
Paul is also working on the completion of his first prose book, "MUNDANE USES OF MAGICAL OBJECTS", a collection of surreal anecdotes and flash fiction fairy tales for adults. He publishes some of the stories and blogs about film and culture on The Huffington Post.
Born in Russia when it was still the Soviet Union, Paul was educated in the U.S., receiving degrees in film from Cornell and Chapman Universities.
